A BRIEF SYNOPSIS
The Last Day Of Summer is a glimpse into the life of two teenagers on their last day of the 2019 summer. New Yorkers to the core, Asia & Jay have been best friends for years. Asia is street-wise and quiet while Jay is brash, charming, and cocky.
We follow them on a whimsical day with the forgotten parts of Brooklyn's gentrification serving as a playground for the two's mischief. They scavenge for makeshift toys in a scrap yard, hit rocks from an abandoned pier into the East River, fill up water balloons in a park, and try to pelt cars on a highway with the balloons when something goes terribly wrong that shakes their friendship to the core.
Throughout these scenes, they share authentic and silly banter that has underlying themes of marital issues, race poverty, and gender.
